To participate in the new season all you have to do is create a new Ladder Character once the ladder has been reset and if you wish to use your old nickname you can delete your previous non-ladder character and take back your name.

You won't need to change anything on your side, you will still be able to login with the same accounts that you own and use the same game version.

To participate, simply wait until the Diablo II realms return to service on April 13, log in to the server, and select the “Ladder Character” checkbox when creating a new character. This ladder reset, like all those before it, creates a clean slate where all ladder characters begin at level 1 with no previous items to help them. Please keep in mind that due to our long-term ladders, vast majority of our players are playing ladder characters only. All characters and items being converted to non-ladder will remain intact so they will not be lost, but once converted these characters will no longer have access to ladder content such as ladder-only rune words.

On the morning of Friday, April 13 2018, we’ll be conducting a maintenance in order to reset the Diablo II ladder.The realm will be unavailable for a few minutes and during this time all existing ladder characters will be converted to non-ladder.
